Hello! What’s your background and what services you or your agency provide?
I’m (Linkedin) Founder & Managing Director of Blazon, an Innovation Launch Agency based in London. We help organisations launch their innovations into pre-existing and new markets through a mix of PR, marketing and advertising.
What motivated you to work in the PR profession?
As I grew my freelance business into a full Agency, PR was always at the forefront of my core offering – I was motivated to concentrate on PR as I truly believe it is an undervalued part of any product launch – the correct approach to PR can be invaluable to any business.
How have you attracted new clients and grown your business?
We use a combination of our network, conferences/events and advertising to attract new business and discover potential clients to work with. Our work is quite niche, so finding companies at their launch phase is always a challenge.
What are your favourite PR tools that you cannot live without?
Have you found anything particularly helpful in getting a placement on a top tier outlet?
I always believe that a good product ‘sells itself’ when it comes to PR pitching – but using the correct formatting for a press kit and having a solid press release always helps too.
How do you stay on top of current events and trends?
Attending niche conferences/events and following interesting newsletters and publications.
What’s your advice for PR pros who are just starting out or entrepreneurs doing PR on their own?
My advice would be to pick a niche and become an expert in that field – knowing every journalist in every field is impossible, it’s much easier to focus on a smaller area and offer your services to companies trying to enter that market.
What are your goals for the future?
We want to expand our Agency beyond PR, marketing and advertising into the leading agency for product launches.
